Guthrie offers clinical rotations to physician assistant students who are matriculated in an ARC-PA accredited institution. Rotating students at Guthrie have the opportunity to become an active member of our medical team, attending teaching rounds and conferences, taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, and assisting in the operating room or with other procedures. Guthrie’s clinical rotations and supportive learning environment enable physician assistant students with an opportunity to grow their medical knowledge through direct-patient care experiences.
Guthrie uses the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system, the most widely used EMR system in the US. Students at Guthrie will be trained on EPIC, learning to use the system to view patient records, record patient details, and place orders as required.
Guthrie offers clinical rotations to students matriculated in affiliated physician assistant programs. Guthrie also welcomes students from unaffiliated programs. For more information on how to participate in our program, please contact the Student Coordinator at 570-887-6583.
